When the waves are small

I prefer waves at least 3 feet and above.  Anything below that is so small and not very powerful.  I don't ride a long board nor would I ever want to.   So when the waves are small, I have to find other things to do like biking, art, swimming, and work! Boooo.  On the bright side, the water has warmed up a little and my boo caught a beautiful Yellowtail :)

Graffiti Inspires Me

Artists don't always tell you what inspires them but after looking through hundreds of photos of graffiti from around the world last night, I chose several that really inspire me.  With a huge interest in surfboards, I love linear art.  Anything with repetitive patterns and shapes.  Also I like political statements and non-realistic images fused with today's world issues.  Enjoy what is inside my brain.

After a few issues with the lap line, I finally glassed the deck.  It looks good to me.

I really like this board

This little baby is 5'7" x 19" x 2 1/2.  It has a little 80s flare but is ready to perform. I finished shaping today and I lammed the bottom this afternoon and it looks juicy!

Swamis

Look how clear the water is at Swamis, yet there was a lot of new sand covering the reef, making the wave a little mushy.  But I still had a lot of fun out there yesterday.

leopard sharks

Surfed twice today & worked in between.
Saw 5 or 6 Leopard sharks in Cardiff, freaky!
So sleepy right now I'll write more tomorrow.

This one's beautiful!

I am stoked.  After a couple weeks of work, I finished my latest board.  It's 5'8" x 19 7/8" x 2 1/2".  Color is resin tint and pigment.  Glassed triple 4 oz on the deck and 4 oz on the bottom with 6 oz laps. Factory space, assistance, expertise and Lokbox fin systems provided by my friend Jimmy.   Thank you!   Had a great time with this board and I'm ready to start the next. Happy Spring.  Now let's get some Souths!

Super Swell

This WNW-NW swell (280-300) and S-SSW swell (180-210) has been hitting us HARD.  And yesterday was no joke in La Jolla.  A & I went on a long drive checking most all of the spots in North County and ended up finding some huge 10-20 foot waves crushing the shore.  Proof is in the photos.  This wasn't an April Fools.
